Bethlehem University Professor Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize

Bethlehem University professor Mazin Qumsiyeh has been nominated for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize. The nomination recognizes his five decades of commitment to peace, nonviolence and environmental sustainability. 

Qumsiyeh is the founder and director of the Palestine Museum of Natural History and the Palestine Institute for Biodiversity and Sustainability at Bethlehem University. Under his leadership, these initiatives became integral to Bethlehem University’s commitment to research, education and conservation, stated a news story by Bethlehem University.  

To celebrate this nomination and support Qumsiyeh’s work, Bethlehem University is launching a global fundraising campaign to support the ongoing educational and research initiatives led by the Palestine Museum of Natural History and the Palestine Institute for Biodiversity and Sustainability.
