As part of its commitment to providing hands-on learning experiences, Bethlehem University organized a study trip for students of the Tour Guiding Program on Monday, 21 April 2025. The group, accompanied by the University Vice Chancellor, Brother Hernan Santos, visited significant historical and religious sites in the Tiberias and Nazareth areas.
The tour was led by Mr. Ibrahim Salameh, the course instructor and a renowned and experienced tour guide, whose expertise and in-depth knowledge provided students with a rich and engaging learning experience throughout the trip.
This is the third study tour organized for this cohort of students, with plans underway for additional educational trips in the near future. These excursions are designed to complement classroom instruction by offering students practical exposure to key sites of religious, cultural, and historical importance.
The itinerary included prominent landmarks such as Mount Precipice, the Church of the Annunciation, Saint Joseph’s Church, the Synagogue Church, the White Mosque, The Mount of Beatitudes, and several other culturally and historically significant locations.
By walking the paths and observing the physical context of these important places, students gained valuable insights into the historical, religious, and architectural narratives that shape the region. The visit also served as a practical training ground in guiding techniques, enabling students to practice on-site interpretation and visitor engagement.
“This trip is more than an academic requirement,” said Mr. Salameh. “It is an essential part of forming professional guides who can confidently and accurately convey the depth of history and culture found in these significant locations.”
The presence of the Vice Chancellor underscored the University’s ongoing support for experiential learning and academic excellence. Through initiatives like this, Bethlehem University continues to prepare students for impactful careers in the field of tourism and cultural heritage.
