As part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen academic relations between Russia and Palestine, Bethlehem University welcomed a delegation from the National Research University “Higher School of Economics” in Moscow, headed by Dr. Leonid Kogan, Deputy Director of the Institute of Classical Oriental Studies and Antiquity and Head of the Department of Near Eastern History and Philology, along with Dr. Timofey Bukov, Director of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Palestine.
The delegation was received by Br. Hernán Santos, Vice Chancellor of Bethlehem University, and Br. Jack Curran, Vice President for Advancement. The meeting focused on prospects for academic and cultural cooperation and opportunities for implementing joint projects.
In cooperation with the Russian House, Bethlehem University organized a roundtable discussion on Teaching Arabic to Foreigners, with the participation of Russian experts and faculty members from the Brother Vincent Malham Center – Arabic School For Foreigners. The session addressed the current state of Arabic language teaching and explored ways to further develop it.
In a separate session, students from the Department of Arabic Studies at the Higher School of Economics presented a variety of academic and research projects, sharing their experiences and findings. The event provided a unique opportunity for dialogue and direct interaction with Bethlehem University students.
