Chef Fadi Kattan Explores Food, Memory, and Identity in Palestinian Literature Class

On Tuesday, 14 October 2025, Chef Fadi Kattan, renowned Palestinian chef and author, was welcomed as a guest speaker in Dr. Shada Shahin’s Palestinian Literature course at Bethlehem University.

The session, attended by third-year students in the course, second-year students, and several members of the English Department, offered a captivating exploration of the deep connections between food, memory, identity, and storytelling in Palestinian culture.

Chef Kattan reflected on how culinary traditions serve as vessels of history and resistance, preserving the collective memory of a people and transforming everyday meals into acts of cultural expression and belonging.
