From Heart to Heart, Students Lead Community Humanitarian Aid Initiative

A group of Bethlehem University students carried out a community initiative entitled “From Heart to Heart” in cooperation with Women Media and Development Organization (TAM), as part of the “Together We Rise” project implemented by TAM with the support of Oxfam. The project aims to enhance youth participation in community and leadership activities.

In this initiative students gave away 50 food parcels to families in need in Bethlehem area, in a gesture that reflects the spirit of solidarity and social responsibility that university students embody toward their local community.

The activity reaffirmed the importance of empowering students and encouraging them to translate the skills and training they have acquired into tangible initiatives that contribute to serving the community and strengthening the values of cooperation and giving.

The participating students expressed their happiness with the initiative, emphasizing that the experience was enriching and impactful on both the personal and community levels. It offered them the opportunity for direct interaction with people and allowed them to feel the true value of giving. One student said, “This type of activity strengthens our self-confidence and makes us feel that we are part of the positive change in society, not only recipients, but active participants and initiators.”

In this context, Mary Qumsieh, Activities Coordinator and Assistant Dean of Students at Bethlehem University, stated: “We are proud of our students who embody the University’s values through practical initiatives that reflect their awareness and sense of belonging. Small steps like these can make a great impact when they stem from a genuine sense of responsibility toward others.”
