As part of their community-based learning, third-year Nursing students from Bethlehem University – Qubeibeh Campus carried out two inspiring field visits that beautifully combined education, empathy, and service.
Students Sadeel, Marah, Aya, Rania, Mohammad, and Mayar, under the supervision of Ms. Shireen Zahran, visited the Palestinian Red Crescent Society for the Deaf – Ramallah.
The visit aimed to better understand the experiences and challenges of the deaf community, particularly within healthcare settings. Students also learned basic sign language gestures to help improve communication with patients with hearing impairments in their future nursing practice.
On the same day, and under the supervision of Mr. Abdulrahman Swalmeh, another group of students visited Al-Yasmeen Charity Association, where they organized fun and interactive activities for children, including drawing with fingerprints, hula hoop challenges, focus games, and balloon play.
These visits reflect Bethlehem University’s ongoing commitment to fostering humanity, inclusion, and hands-on learning in healthcare education.
