Rehabilitation Department Chair Participates in Specialized Training on Addiction Treatment in Amman

Mr. Anan Ghabbash, Chairperson of the Rehabilitation Department at Bethlehem University, recently participated in a specialized training on addiction treatment and rehabilitation, held in Amman, Jordan from 23 to 27 October 2025.

The program was organized by the Sustainable Change for Development Association – Palestine, in cooperation with Zentrum ÜBERLEBE BEN, a German center specializing in psychosocial support and community-based rehabilitation.

The training focused on addiction disorders and emphasized a transformative community approach to supporting individuals affected by substance use. Participants gained advanced professional skills in psychological and social support, prevention strategies, early intervention, and the integration of health, psychological, and social services. The program also facilitated the exchange of experiences among specialists from Palestine, Jordan, and Germany.

Mr. Ghabbash highlighted the training’s impact on his professional development, enabling him to enhance multidisciplinary approaches to addiction rehabilitation and apply practical tools in both academic and community settings.

As a follow-up, he recommends organizing awareness sessions for Bethlehem University students in collaboration with the NAFAS Center, focusing on addiction risks, prevention, and treatment options, addressing the growing prevalence of substance abuse among young people.

This initiative reflects Bethlehem University’s ongoing commitment to student well-being, community health, and professional development of its faculty.
