New Faculty Development Program Continues with Session on Transformative Educational Model

As part of Bethlehem University’s ongoing New Faculty Development Program, Session 9 focused on the Transformative Educational Model, a framework that encourages educators to create meaningful, student-centered learning experiences. The session was led by Ms. Paola Handal, Co-Director for Andragogy and Applied Teaching at the Academic Innovation Hub, who guided participants through the essential components of instructional design and transformative teaching practices.

The session began with a brief introduction to instructional design, prompting participants to reflect on the essential question: What is instructional design, and how can it reshape the learning experience? From there, Ms. Handal delivered an engaging presentation that combined theory and application, emphasizing teaching methodologies that foster student engagement, critical thinking, and creativity.

By the end of the session, participants gained a clearer understanding of how to apply transformative principles to their own courses, making learning not just informative, but truly impactful.

This session marks an important milestone in the New Faculty Development Program, as the cohort continues to build the pedagogical tools and reflective practices necessary to become innovative educators at Bethlehem University.
