New Faculty Orientation and Development Program Comes to an End

As the semester draws to a close, the Academic Innovation Hub (AIH) is pleased to announce the successful completion of this year’s New Faculty Orientation and Professional Development Program. Throughout the semester, the AIH, under the leadership of Co-Directors Ms. Paola Handal and Ms. Tina Hazboun, organized a series of development sessions designed to support new faculty as they enter the Bethlehem University community.

These sessions covered a wide spectrum of topics essential for effective and transformative teaching, including innovative instructional methods, assessment and evaluation strategies, La Sallian values, and the integration of service learning.

Sessions featured contributions from not only Ms. Paola and Ms. Tina but also Br. Mark McKeon, Coordinator of Institutional Values, Br. Peter Iorlano, Vice President for Human Resource, Fr. Garrett Gundlach, Assistant Coordinator of the Institutional Values, Dr. Rabiha Elyan/Alayasa and Mr. Elias Al Hazin, the Faculty Specialists in the AIH, and Dr. Grace Elias, Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs. Speakers contributed their knowledge and practical insights, ensuring that participants received both guidance and inspiration as they began their journey at Bethlehem University.

This semester’s program reflects the AIH’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the culture of teaching and learning at Bethlehem University. As the University continues to evolve, these efforts ensure that every new colleague is supported, informed, and ready to contribute meaningfully to our shared mission.
