Bethlehem University’s Academic Affairs Office, in collaboration with the Human Resources Office, has officially launched the New Faculty Orientation Program — the first in a series of sessions designed to welcome and support newly appointed faculty members.
The program, which will span 12 sessions throughout the Fall 2025 semester, introduces essential information about the University’s policies, rules, and regulations, while also helping faculty strengthen their teaching skills. Its goal is to equip faculty with the tools needed for both professional and academic growth, ensuring they are prepared to contribute meaningfully to the University’s mission of excellence in teaching, research, and service.
This week’s session was led by Ms. Paola Handal, Co-Director of the Academic Innovation Hub (AIH) for Andragogy and Applied Teaching, who guided participants through the Transformative Educational Model, exploring its vision for innovative, student-centered learning. Faculty members also connected with AIH’s mission and reflected on the role of newly developed syllabi in shaping a meaningful educational journey.
In addition, Dr. Rabiha Elyan, Faculty Specialist in Course Design and Assessment, provided an introduction to Bethlehem University’s newly developed syllabi, offering practical insights on how to design effective learning outcomes that enhance the educational journey for students.
By investing in faculty development, the University continues to uphold its commitment to empowering students through transformative education and contributing to the advancement of Palestinian society.
