From 3 to 6 November 2025, the Zbierski Library at Bethlehem University welcomed 179 students from Grades 3 to 5 of St. Joseph’s Elementary School, accompanied by their teachers.
Each morning, the Turathuna team warmly welcomed the students at the main gate and guided them to the library, where a day of discovery and learning awaited. The visit aimed to introduce the young learners to the world of books, knowledge, and culture while nurturing their appreciation for the richness of Palestinian heritage.
The students explored the George Nasra Center for Palestinian Heritage – Turathuna, where Librarians Ms. Mirna Zoughbi and Ms. Sana Salsa brought history to life through engaging stories and explanations of traditional clothing, artifacts, and customs. Their interactive approach sparked curiosity and lively exchanges as students eagerly shared their own thoughts and reflections on Palestinian identity and tradition.
Adding to the experience, Bethlehem University student Khader Qassis, gave a brief introduction to the University and shared his personal journey as a student, inspiring the young visitors to dream of their own futures in higher education.
The visits concluded with a captivating screening of the short film “Old Bethlehem”, which beautifully depicted the city’s history and glimpses of the abandoned villages of Lifta and Al-Damun, evoking pride and a deeper connection to the students’ roots.
The Zbierski Library extends its heartfelt thanks to St. Joseph’s Elementary School for their visit and looks forward to welcoming them again for more inspiring encounters with learning and heritage.
