Bethlehem University organized a sit-in on campus to protest the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people on Monday, 17 May 2021.

After playing the national anthem, the Vice Chancellor Brother Peter Bray said, “Our resistance here at Bethlehem University is most obvious in the way in which we carry out our mission to educate the students who are entrusted to us so they can create a free, peaceful and a vibrant Palestine.”

Executive Vice President Rev. Dr. Iyad Twal called for the international community to immediately intervene to stop this aggression which is “rejected by all religions and by the humanitarian laws that affirm the human right to life, freedom, and independence.”

Bethlehem University joined the general strike that was called for in Palestine on Tuesday, 18 May 2021.
