The second phase of the media education course for interactive media students concluded at Bethlehem University, held in partnership between the University’s Institute for Community Engagement & Partnership (ICP) and the Finnish Lifelong Learning Foundation (KVS).

The course was part of the media education project in the field of media education, and 21 students from the interactive media major participated. It was divided into 10 sessions, conducted both in person and electronically, with an average of 50 training hours.

The course aimed to introduce students to various media education issues, including verifying news, digital safety, awareness of the use of social media, combating rumors, and other media education topics.

Professors from the Interactive Media Program at the university presented the course: Tamara Abu Laban, Hisham Al-Lahham, and OssaydAlmaqdisi Alamarneh. From the KVS, Anne Tastula, Susanna Vilpponen, Veeramaria Pennanen, and Muhammad Badawiya also participated.

At the end of the course, the participating students were assigned to implement community initiatives with local community institutions in the governorates of Jerusalem, Bethlehem, and Hebron. The aim was to raise awareness among different segments of society about the media education topics on which the students were trained during the course.
