The Institute for Community Engagement & Partnership (ICP) and the Interactive Media Program proudly hosted the graduation ceremony for Interactive Media students at Bethlehem University on Thursday, 7 March 2024, marking the successful conclusion of the Media Literacy training course and their community projects.
During the ceremony, students presented their community initiatives, developed in collaboration with 10 community and non-profit organizations, including schools, charitable associations, rural councils, theaters, youth centers, and more. These initiatives were strategically aimed at diverse groups in the governorates of Jerusalem and Bethlehem.
Covering an array of media literacy topics such as digital security, combating misinformation, fact-checking, and more, these initiatives received significant engagement from the audience.
Distinguished speakers at the ceremony included Mr. Moussa Rabadi, the Director of ICP; Ms. Hanadi Younan, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts; Dr. Ziad Bani Shamsa, the Head of the Department of Arabic Language; and Ms. Maysoun Ramadan, the project manager. Representatives from community organizations also shared opinions and feedback about the initiatives were implemented and presented by students of Interactive Media with their teachers.
The speakers commended the profound impact of interactive media in today’s world and the commendable execution of initiatives that aim to serve and address the community’s needs, all within the context of the students’ academic journey.
This graduation ceremony is a significant milestone within the framework of the Media Literacy Project, generously funded by Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland (MFA), and is a collaborative effort between the Community Engagement & Partnership (ICP) at Bethlehem University and the Finnish Lifelong Learning Foundation (KVS).
