WSERU Field Work

Field Work

The WSERU laboratory is responsible for:

  • Collection of rainfall
  • Collection of water samples upon the standard methods for water sampling with sterilized bottles for the biological tests.
  • Collection of water samples upon the standard methods for water sampling with polyethylene bottles for the chemical tests.

The unit also receives the water samples from the local community for the biological or chemical tests upon their responsibility too.

The samples are analyzed according to the standard methods for the examination of water and wastewater of the American Health Association (1995).

In addition, direct measurements are made at each site with the WSERU field system, a Mettler Toledo set of probes, giving readings for temperature, electrical conductivity (EC), total dissolved solids (TDS) and pH.
