Dean of Research Professor Jamil Khader participated in a meeting about academic and research collaboration between Palestinian and French universities in Campus France in Paris from 18 to 19 November 2019.

The meeting was also attended by various representatives from Palestinian and French universities, the Palestinian Ministry of Higher Education, and the Palestinian Academy for Science and Technology (PALAST).

The meeting aimed at introducing cooperation programs in the academy between the two countries, the possibility of developing collaborative research projects that can contribute to the establishment of solid research infrastructure in Palestine, and the advancement of French language programs at Palestinian universities.

Professor Khader made a short presentation titled, “Fostering professional training of young researchers: lessons from a project,” in which he discussed the activities organized by the Office of the Dean of Research at Bethlehem University to promote a culture of excellence in research, including the BU Research Group.

He also spoke about his idea for establishing an institute for training in research and research methodology that focuses on developing the skills of writing competitive research proposals and writing for publication.

Follow-up meetings will be held in Palestine through PALAST to coordinate the future cooperation between universities in the two countries.
