The Bethlehem University Library organized a hiking trip to Battir on Sunday 22 May 2022.  13 faculty and staff took part in the trip that started from the Al-Makhrour area in Beit Jala, a world heritage site.

Wadi Al Makhrour extends from the Crimsan Monastery all the way to the village of Battir. This beautiful valley has been a center of attraction for many visitors.

Battir is a Palestinian village 6 kilometers, west of Bethlehem. It is considered one of the last farming villages in Palestine that still uses a unique irrigation system from the Roman times.

The group walked through the hills and valleys of Battir and Wadi Al-Makhrour, and spent some time in the village, and enjoyed a traditional Palestinian Musakhan meal.
