Mission and Objective

The department of Applied Sciences in the faculty of Applied Sciences, Technology, and Engineering offers two programs.  The program in Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLSC), and the program in Pharmaceutical and Industrial Chemistry (PINC).  The mission of the department is to provide students with high-quality educational experience in the medical diagnostic sciences, the pharmaceutical and industrial sciences as well.

The programs’ curricula offered by the department requires students to develop critical-thinking skills and competence in the use of modern clinical techniques, and in the analysis, interpretation, and presentation of data.

The programs focus on developing graduates’ soft skills (personal development, leadership, communication, entrepreneurship, etc.) to deliver high-quality competitive graduates to the labor market.  Furthermore, the department promotes a caring and supportive environment in which each student’s self-esteem is fostered by positive relationships with students and staff. The Department looks forward to further expanding its two research centers, which conduct high-quality research, to continue serving the current programs.
